Leave No Man Behind

Purpose

The gospel of Luke tells the story of Jesus healing a paralytic. The man couldn’t walk, and had no hope of getting into the house to see Jesus. His four friends carried him on his mat, and although they couldn’t bring him in through the front door due to the crowd in the house, the men didn’t give up! Instead, they brought their friend on the roof, cut open a hole, and lowered him down through the carved space and into the presence of God. We are told that, when Jesus saw their faith, He healed the man! It was the faith of the friends that impressed our Lord.

Those men were determined to not leave their friend behind. It is our desire to create an environment where all men are welcomed, nurtured, and made to feel as an important part of this group. We want to help each other by bringing our brothers into the presence of God.

Upcoming Events

We want to see you at these events!
The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.

Doug Berrill

Men's Ministry Director
dougberrillsr@gmail.com(207) 590-8891
Doug and his wife, Julie, share a home in Rochester, New Hampshire. They have one son, Doug Jr. (aka DJ), and a granddaughter Lilyanna Grace Berrill.

He came to Christ "late" in his life, at the age of 40 years old. He says that he is "living proof that God never gives up on us!" Since becoming a Christian and member of the Seventh-day Adventist church he has been asked to serve in a variety of positions. These include Deacon, Elder, and Head Elder.  In 2014 he attended and graduated from the Northeast Evangelism Training School, NETS. This was a four month in house training program that was held at the former Atlantic Union College. Through this program he was certified in both public and personal evangelism.   In addition to serving as the Northern New England Conference Men’s Ministry Steward, he is also a member of the leadership team for the conference prayer ministry. And serves as a member of the evangelism committee for our conference.

At the very beginning of his walk with Christ he was invited to attend some conference wide Men’s Ministry events. These included the spring rallies and annual retreats at Camp Lawroweld. He quickly made friends with other men throughout our conference realizing that we all have had and are having similar experiences.

Doug says, "I truly believe that men’s ministry has and is a huge part of my walk with Christ. It is my desire to share that experience with the men of our conference. God has a special mission for men. A mission as sons, husbands, fathers & grandfathers. A mission as spiritual leaders in our homes, in our churches, places of employment, and our communities! My prayer is that all men will come to a living and loving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ!"
