MUSIC CLINIC 2020
MUSIC CLINIC 2020 HAS BEEN CANCELLED
FROM THE DESK OF NNEC EDUCATION SUPERINTENDENT, TREVOR SCHLISNER:
Dear NNEC Schools, Music Clinic Parents, Sponsors and Participants,
It is with a heavy heart to tell you that, after much deliberation, NNE Conference leadership has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Music Clinic due to the expanding COVID-19 disease event.
There were many pro’s and con’s to weigh in making this decision, but let me tell you the thing that was the deciding factor: Adventists are pretty much one big family. If we held Music Clinic and hundreds of people came from Northern New England as well as several states and regions beyond that are known to have COVID-19 infections, then we would be bringing our youth and their chaperones into a potentially harmful environment. Then, those same youth would go back to their homes and interact with their church, their teachers, their parents and their grandparents. In other words, if we increase the risk of infection to our children, we increase the risk of infection to our entire church family including our “high-risk” seniors. So, yes, in the end we chose caution.
Thank you for your support of the NNEC Music Clinic and let’s look forward together to Music Clinic next year. Barbara Chase will be making arrangements for reimbursement of fees and the plan for sending back the distributed music. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.
Yours in Christ,
Trevor Schlisner, NNEC Superintendent
