Freeport - New England Forum (May 30 & 31)

The New England Forum (NEF) is a community inviting us to gather for study and dialogue, while reasoning together regarding current issues that impact the church, beliefs, and society. All in a biblical context guided by trusted Adventist thought leaders!

The presenter and discussion leader on May 30 and 31 is Dr. Tihomir Lazić, a professor in Systematic Theology at Newbold College. With diverse ministerial experience in the U.S. and U.K., Dr. Lazić brings a wealth of practical experience. He is President-Elect of the Adventist Society for Religious Studies and is coming to spend a weekend with us right here in our Conference!

The nature and identity of the church is the weekend focus. With all the issues surrounding our unity and mission a deep dive into our understanding of “church” is important! Dr. Lazić is the author of Remnant in Koinonia: Towards an Adventist Version of Communio Ecclesiology, which grapples with what it means to be a church that resonates with and serves the needs of the twenty-first-century world. The Forum will explore solutions to some of the most divisive ecclesial issues our Christian community faces today regarding church nature, structure, ministry, mission, communal interpretation, and reform.

Join us – the evening of Friday, May 30, 7:00pm - 8:20pm, and afternoon of May 31, Sabbath, 3:00 – 5:45, in Freeport. Please encourage your fellow members to attend. The need for this kind of dialogue about the nature of our Church is urgent!

Lewiston - Freedom from Addictions Series (May 22-25)

If you are struggling with an addiction, you may be asking, “Why am I so easily addicted? Why is it so hard to break my addictions? If I have struggled for years and failed every time, is there hope for me? Why should something work now when nothing has worked before?” If you have a loved one who is addicted, you may be asking, “How do I help them? Is it better to be permissive? Do they need more tough love? Should I put up with it, or should I leave?” These questions and more will be answered in the All About Addictions seminar. “I have struggled with addictions myself. And I have counseled many people through their addictions. What most people don’t realize is that there is one underlying cause for all addictions. This means that there is one fundamental solution to all addictions. Join us for the All About Addictions seminar as we look at the cause, the solution, and practical steps along the way to freedom from addictions.” – Mark Sandoval MD. View flyer for more info...
